Agfa HealthCare Deploys CollabNet TeamForge

Agfa HealthCareAgfa HealthCare, a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT solutions, and CollabNet®, the leader in Agile application lifecycle management (Agile ALM) in the Cloud, announced today that Agfa HealthCare has deployed CollabNet TeamForge™ to support more than 200 major software development projects around the globe. More than 700 globally distributed Agfa HealthCare employees, including software developers, product and project managers, quality assurance engineers, and development managers, collaborate closely using the CollabNet platform. The company estimates that deploying CollabNet TeamForge has already resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in cost savings. More information about CollabNet TeamForge is available at www.collab.net/products/ctf.

A key factor in Agfa HealthCare's selection of CollabNet TeamForge was the platform's flexible support for every development methodology. Agfa HealthCare develops software using Agile, waterfall, Scrum, and other methodologies, with an appropriate methodology selected on a project-by-project basis. CollabNet TeamForge's ability to support multiple methodologies within the same system has helped drive adoption and increase productivity across development teams.

CollabNet TeamForge's ready integration with other technologies used by Agfa HealthCare was another important selection factor. The platform's tight integration with Subversion, a popular open source software configuration management (SCM) project founded by CollabNet, was especially important. Taking advantage of the open architecture, Agfa has integrated CollabNet TeamForge with Hudson, an open source build and test server, and HP Quality Center, a leading testing platform, via certified integrations provided by CollabNet.

In addition to increasing productivity and reducing costs, CollabNet TeamForge enables Agfa HealthCare to comply with the wide array of healthcare regulations that apply to its business around the world. The platform's central content repository and sophisticated audit, tracing, and tracking functionality support business processes and procedures that the regulations require.

"Agfa HealthCare is a global company that conducts business in more than 100 markets worldwide, and we therefore have very complex regulatory compliance requirements," said Volker Wetekam, vice president, information technology, Agfa HealthCare. "CollabNet TeamForge enables our development teams around the world to create better software-faster and at lower cost-while complying with these regulations."

"Regulatory compliance is a critical requirement for companies in healthcare, finance, and many other industries," said Bill Portelli, chief executive officer, CollabNet. "The CollabNet TeamForge development and governance platform provides the detailed, traceable, and documented accountability their distributed software development teams require to meet today's demanding regulations."
