Carestream Awarded RIS Solution in Denmark

CarestreamCarestream has been awarded a RIS solution for two sites in the Region Capital of Denmark. The CARESTREAM Vue RIS solution will replace existing systems at Rigshospitalet, the National University Hospital, based in Blegdamsvej and Glostrup, part of Greater Copenhagen, to enhance radiology workflow. Installation is expected to be completed by the end of 2016. The 1361-bed hospital carries out around 330,000 exams each year.

"We have 20 years of positive history with Rigshospitalet," said Christian Vigh, Country Sales Manager for Carestream. "For this specific project, Carestream was identified as the only company who would be able to deliver what was expected technically and in the due timeframe." The Carestream solution will consist of a consolidated RIS v10 with a load-balanced EIS Dicom Worklist and EPIC integration.

Rigshospitalet is Denmark's leading hospital for patients requiring highly specialised treatment and is a centre for research, development and education of international standard. The CARESTREAM Vue RIS will improve the hospital's radiology workflow by automating the patient's diagnostic journey from order entry to results distribution, reducing errors and improving patient care. The web-based radiology information system will be accessible from anywhere across the two sites, integrating mammography workflows, peer review and reporting, to eliminate disparate systems.
