Denmark will over the next ten years, spend € 5.5 billion on the construction of eight new super hospitals, including the new Odense University Hospital (OUH). Region Southern Denmark is therefore inviting international stakeholders from the public and private sector to meet and discuss how to ensure sustainable future health care solutions through innovative private and public partnerships.
The congress "Hospital + Innovation Congress - partnering for sustainable health care design" is open to all stakeholders who are interested in establishing cross-border partnerships between public and private stakeholders.
Regional council chairman, Carl Holst stated: "This congress is an invitation to the world to cooperate with us. Together, we can create the future of healthcare services by changing the way patients, physicians, nurses, government and industry innovate and implement services and solutions. It is our goal with this congress to identify the right partners to help us now, and in the future, to develop the best holistic and sustainable healthcare solutions."
The planning of the congress involves Mayo Clinic (USA), NHS 24 (Scotland), Health Care Denmark and Philips (Netherlands). Region Southern Denmark has also partnered with HIMSS Europe, one of the world's largest non-profit membership associations, focusing on delivering better healthcare solutions through IT.
"We want to ensure that the starting point for our planning concerning healthcare starts with the latest solutions in healthcare innovation. Hence our reason to involve private and public international partners already in this planning phase," says Carl Holst.
The congress program will be designed as a combination of contributions from Danish and international keynote speakers and interactive workshops that will contribute to the understanding of how to create a health care system which ultimately focuses on the individual patient's needs, e.g. through flexible hospitals, modern management and telemedicine.
