This year's edition (21-23 November 2006) of the most important European event in the field of Information Society Technologies will coincide with the launch of the EU's Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Development.

A conference on science and research in the context of Turkey's accession to the EU will take place in Istanbul on 8 September.

EU Science and Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik will open the conference, which is aimed at private sector representatives, universities and research centres.
