The New Zealand Ambassador in France, Rosemary Banks, recently hosted a presentation and roundtable discussion on the future of the health sector, at her official residence in Paris.

More than 200 delegates from 30 countries followed the invitation to this year's Global E-Health Forum entitled "Designing Personalized Healthcare". In presentations and workshops, speakers from Canada, China, Egypt, New Zealand, Russian Federation, U.S.A. and various European countries presented their strategies and best practices.

The conference agenda is structured to cover the state of play and recent changes in the landscape for the European Health 2.0 industry; advances in search & content and their convergence with online communities; new tools to connect patients, doctors and healthcare stakeholders; and the use of web and mobile technologies to manage chronic conditions, motivate behavior changes and promote wellness.

Eucomed, the European medical technology industry association, will launch in early 2012 a conference pre-vetting system to review and approve third-party educational conferences and congresses in accordance with the ethical rules established in the Eucomed Code of Ethical Business Practice.

New Zealand, most commonly known for its pristine landscapes and healthy lifestyle, is also leading the way in eHealth as demonstrated at the Global E-Health Forum held in Hamburg on 11-13 October.

The Twelfth Annual European interoperability testing event for IT in healthcare, known as the IHE Connectathon, will be held in Bern, Switzerland from May 21 to May 25, 2012 at the Bern Expo.
