iPLATO Healthcare, the leader in mHealth, announced that its application services are now available to users in Northern Ireland. This will allow local NHS organisations to offer high quality mobile phone enabled health services to its populations to promote health, transform patient pathways and support people with long term conditions.
Quayside Medical Practice, a GP Surgery in Londonderry, played a crucial role in this launch project. "As a new user of iPLATO Patient Care Messaging we're looking forward to using text messaging to contact patients quickly as it is instant and convenient for both patient and the surgery," says Timothy Brown, I.T. Supervisor. "Using text messaging as a means to invite patients to different clinics as well as the automatic appointment reminders will be very beneficial in terms of staff time and resources especially during the flu jab season where we usually send out about 1,500 letters to patients. Our practice has 12,000 patients so there will considerable savings made over a period of time."
