Vascular analysis via the Internet - quick and user-friendly

SIEMENSNew functions for vascular analysis expand syngo WebSpace, Siemens Medical Solution's client-server solution for computed tomography (CT). syngo WebSpace allows users to access and manipulate the CT images via an Internet or other network connection. Improved algorithms and additional tools in the new software version enable physicians to accurately analyze small vessels as well as document reports more quickly. For example, computer-supported measurements for stenoses and comparisons of vessel cross-sections are now part of the package. The syngo WebSpace version 2008A will be available worldwide in September 2007.

One of the new applications for syngo WebSpace is syngo InSpace AVA (Advanced Vessel Analysis). Using new algorithms, even small and poorly contrasted vessels as well as sub-total stenoses can be examined easily, quickly, and accurately. After the vessels have been segmented, the user is provided with different analytical tools. Stenoses, aneurysms or dissections can be displayed and measured as reconstructions (curved MPR) or as orthogonal cuts. Automated measurement functions provide for easy quantification of lesions, for example, planning stents or vessel protheses. Also, measurement results are quickly documented with the auto reporting function and can read by established text processing programs.

Another new application for syngo WebSpace is 2D viewing that allows the user to display individual slice images in 2D. In addition to volume datasets, individual images, DICOM images or series as well as secondary captures from DICOM modalities, for example imaging devices, archives or workstations, can be displayed. This means that classic MR image series can be selected anywhere in the net and analyzed.

A new service package for syngo WebSpace is e-Tune: in addition to the classic service and maintenance contract, e-Tune automatically sends updates and upgrades to the syngo WebSpace platform and the applications running on it. E-Tune is suitable for users who want to secure their investment in syngo WebSpace for the long term and who also want to participate in the rapid rate of innovations in the area of image-processing software.
